Peklo
A unique restaurant for a Prague organized dinner in the remarkable setting of a 12th-century grotto, Peklo (HELL) will win you over with delicious meals, fine service and also an environment you won’t find anywhere else in Prague.
The professional service and luscious Czech and international dishes are complimented by a live jazz band. Guests at Peklo are always provided with an excellent wine selection and on offer are an extensive collection of French, Italian, South American and outstanding Moravian wines.
It was logical that the restaurant was named Peklo (HELL). Subsequently everything below must be a hellish inferno as the original vineyards located above the restaurant were called “Paradise,” . With a name like this the restaurant naturally requires a symbolic passageway to the underworld.
In fact, paradise continues to exist above Peklo to this day. Open in the summer months, the outdoor dining area above Peklo in the Strahov courtyard is thus named “Ráj” (Paradise). While Peklo is a luxury restaurant, Ráj offers a more casual environment with a different, more laid back, menu. This paradise is an ideal place to relax after a long walk around the nearby monuments.
