Tokhi & the Groove Army Radical Drum Corp builds upon the principles of Brazilian samba.
The group (20 drummers and a leader) uses typical Brazilian instruments (surdo, caixa, caxixi, pandeiro, tamborim, ganza, timba). Next to the classical baterria rhythms, they also integrate modern beats inspired by hip hop, and r’n’b. Their colorful spectrum of rhythms unite fans of different styles of music.
A new project of the Radical Drum Corp – Royal Squad, extends over a number of music genres, and aspires to be an audiovisual show of a multinational format rather than offering just an ordinary concert.
Led by Tokhi, who brings global musical experience to the project, Royal Squad is the ultimate expression of Groove Army’s vision. Each show features a powerful intro, striking masks, stunning costumes, and an electrifying stage setup. Expect a drum storm with classic instruments, a concert drum kit, DJ set, giant gong, and barrels filling the stage. It’s a must-see.

The Groove Army can also arrive alone to a production without the sufficient space on stage, audio equipment, or without the budget to cover the entire drumming crew. Even so, we sound awesome!
