Gallery MIRO

MIRO Gallery is located on the Strahov Monastery premises in the former Church of St. Rochus, built by Rudolf II between 1603 and 1612. The church building is an unusual combination of Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance styles. This unique space is home to an ever-changing array of exhibitions of both Czech and foreign artists. Among the most famous are exhibitions featuring works by Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Chagall, Rodin, Warhol and others.

MIRO Gallery was established in Berlin in 1987. It has been based at the Church of St. Rochus at Strahov Monastery since 1994, when the gallery relocated to Prague from Berlin. This unique location was acquired through the kind assistance of celebrated Czech vocalist Karel Gott, who provided gallery founder Miro Smolák with an interest-free loan of 1 million of Czech Crowns to secure the space. Since then, several dozen masters on the international and Czech art scenes have been exhibited at St. Rochus.

MIRO Gallery also holds the International Trebbia Awards to support culture and artistic activity. Commissioned by the Trebbia Foundation, an International Nominating Committee composed of prominent figures from several different European countries selects the laureates from a list of proposed candidat
