Maximilian Hotel blends historic charm with modern sophistication. Designed in the 1920s by avant-garde architect Karel Teige, its two buildings – the Black and Red House – preserve their original style with contemporary updates. Reopened in 1995 after reconstruction, the hotel was a pioneer in merging history with international hospitality standards.
Located on the peaceful Haštalské náměstí, Maximilian offers a quiet retreat just six minutes from Prague’s main landmarks, including Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. Facing the historic St. Haštal Church, the setting combines Gothic and Baroque influences.
Interiors, designed by Eva Jiřičná, draw inspiration from Pierre Chareau’s “La Maison de Verre,” blending Art Deco, Modernism, and contemporary design. Rooms feature high ceilings, neo-Cubist furniture, and refined lighting for a stylish yet comfortable ambiance.
